A New Chapter for Odyssey

Zane Huffman takes the helm as CEO of Odyssey

We are excited to share that Zane Huffman has officially stepped into the role of Chief Executive Officer at Odyssey. Zane brings over a decade of experience in crypto and DeFi, including four years leading strategy for Vesper and Metronome. He’s played a key role in shaping Odyssey from the beginning, and now he’s taking the lead as we enter our next phase of growth.

A letter from our new CEO:

After a dozen years of learning, building, and embracing the space… I’m very excited to take on my new position as CEO at Odyssey.

I fell down the rabbit hole in 2013 - writing blog posts and testing websites for a few $$ of BTC to buy Minecraft accounts and play online poker (shoutout Seals with Clubs).

I never shook the itch, and through high school and college, I found ways to dig myself deeper into crypto. I found myself taking on a freelance position with Bloq in 2020. And getting onboarded into Covid, quickly transitioned towards the DeFi team as I also did my time in the trenches in what would shape up to be a wonderful DeFi Summer.

As many of you already know, I’ve spent the last few years at Bloq helping launch products like Vesper and Metronome. I’ve worked across strategy, growth, partnerships, and token design, everything that sits at the intersection of product and community. But more importantly, I’ve lived it as a user. I’ve farmed, borrowed, lost, and learned.

As such, I’ve been able to increasingly imprint my vision on how DeFi should function. I had a lot of liberty to help reinvent Metronome into what we now know as Metronome Synth - an ecosystem I am very proud to be a part of (and a very happy user of too, the yields are great!).

But as a power user with as much DeFi knowledge as anyone, I find my activities to remain incredibly clunky. There are great opportunities out there, which Vesper and Metronome help to streamline, but the experience is generally to go out and get solid APY in a convenient and unified manner.

I don’t mind chasing new L2s, new lending markets, and new assets to get the most out of my capital. But frankly, I am sick of how cumbersome it all is: deposit, collateralize, swap, loop, loop, loop… reverse on the way out. Then the act of juggling positions, preparing to claim airdrops, and navigating bridges. It’s a total mess, and it’s unacceptable that the industry hasn’t established better standards. Odyssey is our answer to that.

It’s the product I always wanted as a user. A single interface where you can see the best strategies available, across both our own ecosystem and third-party markets, and enter or exit with one click.

As we ramp up, our roadmap includes crucial functionality I need as a user that isn’t found anywhere else, such as conditional logic to pre-set intentions around airdrops, depegs, and other market events.

Now, stepping into the CEO role means I get to carry all my experience forward to help others.

Closed Alpha

A huge thank you to everyone who took part in the closed alpha. Your feedback, patience, and experimentation helped us identify what worked, and more importantly, what didn’t. We have made some significant changes based on what we learned, and we are excited to bring you a sharper, more powerful version of Odyssey.

What's Coming Next - Beta Roadmap:

The Beta rollout is our first public release, a more complete product with curated strategies, streamlined UX, and access to serious yield.

That said, we’re still early. We’re continuing to evolve based on community feedback, and we’re rewarding those who help upgrade this next chapter through season one of our incentivized points program. This is where the Fastronauts come in, our early explorers and leaderboard legends. If you're here early, you're one of them.

Here’s what’s shipping in Beta:

Loopr v2

A major upgrade to our core strategy engine, with better performance, cleaner execution flows, and more advanced options for looping. If you’re someone who’s been maxing out the current version, you will be excited to see this.

Bundlr v2

You can expect more flexibility, a much better UX, and the ability to group even more complex actions into a single, smooth transaction.

Yieldr

Our newest module which surfaces top-performing yield opportunities across integrated ERC-4626 pools.

Launching on Hemi

We’ve been working closely with the Hemi team to get everything aligned and ready to go. The integrations are nearly complete, and we’re just as eager as you are to get this live. It’s coming very soon, and we think it’ll be worth the wait.

Incentivized Points Program (Fatstronauts Season One)

Earn calories for real DeFi actions. Lending, looping, swapping, referrals, and more. Climb the Feastboard, unlock meme-fueled ranks, activate Boosters, and compete for top spots in season one (more details coming soon).

We’re close to launching the open Beta, and we’ll be sharing exact details very soon. This is just the beginning of what Odyssey is becoming.

This next phase of Odyssey is about focus… listening to community feedback to ship real tools, improve strategy execution, and reward the users who are here early.

We’re not trying to reinvent DeFi. We’re making it usable, composable, and worth your time.
